Connect an agent

TerraLab is a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP. One URL works in every agent:

https://mcp.terra-lab.ai/mcp

The first time, your agent asks you to sign in to TerraLab. Your free calls and balance show on Dashboard, MCP.

Claude

Open the prefilled dialog: add TerraLab to Claude. Click Add, then Connect, and sign in to TerraLab.

Or in Claude, open Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, and paste the server URL.

ChatGPT

Open the TerraLab app in ChatGPT, click Add, then start your message with @TerraLab.

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

Then run /mcp in Claude Code and sign in to TerraLab. Ready-made GIS workflows come as a plugin:

Codex

Codex adds the server and opens the TerraLab sign-in in your browser. It then works in the CLI, the IDE extension and the app. The same entry in ~/.codex/config.toml:

Cursor

Open the install link: add TerraLab to Cursor. Cursor shows the server: click Install, then sign in when it asks.

Open the install link: add TerraLab to VS Code. Click Install, sign in to TerraLab, then ask Copilot in agent mode.

Add a remote MCP server with the URL above in any agent that takes one; it opens the TerraLab sign-in. Gemini CLI:

Tools

The server exposes 29 tools. Each one is documented with its parameters and a request example in the API reference: the MCP tool and the REST endpoint share the same name and arguments.

• Places: Find places and addresses, Convert coordinates, Measure distance, area, radius or buffer
• Map data: Extract open map data for an area, Open, map and convert GIS data, Buffer, merge, clip or simplify features
• Terrain and routes: Elevation, profile and contour lines, Road route between places, Area reachable in a travel time
• Imagery and land: Satellite image of an area, Forest type (natural, planted, plantation), Estimate the population of an area
• France: French cadastral parcel and zoning, French building heights, Natural risks at an address or a point
• Data catalog: Find a dataset in the TerraLab catalogue, Extract a hosted dataset for an area, Ask TerraLab to add data it does not have

What to ask

• "Find the coordinates of these 40 addresses and give me a CSV for QGIS."
• "Extract the buildings and roads within 1 km of Annecy station as a GeoPackage."
• "Elevation profile from Chamonix to the Aiguille du Midi."
• "Which natural risks apply at 12 rue de la Paix, Annecy?"

Answers show a map in the chat when the agent supports it, and give files that open in QGIS, ArcGIS or Google Earth.

Troubleshooting

• TerraLab shows as connected in Claude but has no tools. If you added it before October 26, 2026, remove the connector and add it again: Claude then offers the TerraLab sign-in.
• The agent says the free calls are used. Top up on Dashboard, MCP or wait for the 1st of the month. See Pricing and free calls.
• A tool answers with an error. Its message and hint say what to change. See Errors and rate limits.
