How it works

  1. The AI Agent composer with a message and a layer of the project attached

    You ask in one message

It already sees your layers, fields, CRS and map extent.

  2. The AI Agent panel with its plan for the Bordeaux flood zones ticked step by step, and the tools it ran

It plans, then runs QGIS tools

Each step shows as it runs: the data it found, the algorithms, the styles.

  3. The agent rendering its map, finding an overlay hidden and correcting the drawing order

    It checks its own map

It renders the result, looks at it and fixes what reads wrong before it answers.

Your data in. A complete QGIS workflow out.

From your study area to a map you can deliver.

How hard you want it to work

One slider in the composer, right before you send. It sets how much the agent plans, checks and researches.

What leaves your machine

Your prompt and a description of the open project. Never your raster or vector files, never the project file, never whole tables. The service is hosted in the EU.

Built-in data connectors

Connected to the best open data.

73 connectors to 843 datasets come built into AI Agent. It picks the right source, clips it to your area and credits it.

Frequently asked questions

Still unsure? Ask the TerraLab team
  • AI Agent, the QGIS plugin by TerraLab, does your GIS tasks in the project you have open: it finds the data, runs the analysis and styles the map. That covers what you would otherwise do by hand: find and load open data, run Processing algorithms, style and label layers, edit features and attributes, reproject and georeference, build print layouts and export them, and drive 39 other QGIS plugins. It reaches 253 QGIS tools and 843 open datasets, and writes PyQGIS for your approval when no tool fits.
  • A chatbot tells you which menu to open, and you do the clicks. AI Agent runs inside QGIS: it reads your layers, fields and CRS, runs the steps itself and checks the result on the map. You get the finished layer or layout in your project, and one click undoes it.
  • In QGIS, open Plugins > Manage and Install Plugins, search for AI Agent by TerraLab and install it. Then open the panel with Ctrl+Alt+A and sign in.
  • The agent may take thirty or sixty QGIS steps to finish what you asked for, load several layers and chain a dozen algorithms, and it still counts as one run. Reading an answer or moving the map costs nothing. If a run fails, it is given back. A run you stop still counts.
  • 7 runs a month, renewed every month on the date the account was created. Every QGIS tool, the whole open data catalogue, every QGIS plugin you have installed, permissions, checkpoints, undo and context chips are all included. Runs go on Low effort. Free is for personal use.
  • 300 runs a month instead of the free allowance. Medium and High effort, for harder tasks that take many steps and need the agent to plan and check its own work. Autopilot, so it finishes the job without stopping to ask. Memory and your own instructions, so you stop repeating how you work. Longer runs, up to 200 steps (300 on High). Your data is never reused, and you choose how long it is kept. And commercial use: Free is for personal use, teaching and study, so any paid job or client deliverable needs Pro. The 843 open datasets, the 39 third-party plugins and every QGIS tool work on both plans, so what you tried on Free carries straight over.
  • Yes. You cancel anytime from your dashboard in one click, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid, with no lock-in. Your account then goes back to the free plan and nothing is deleted. Because Pro gives immediate access to the service, subscription fees are generally non-refundable, but if something went wrong, email us and we'll make it right.
  • No. Sign in with a TerraLab account and the plugin handles the connection. There is nothing to paste and nothing to top up with a third party, including for the satellite and national services that normally ask for one.
  • Your prompt, the project CRS, extent and scale, layer names, geometry types, field names and extents, one sample row of the active layer, recent Processing runs, and anything you attach. Raster and vector file contents, the project file, geometries and whole tables stay on your machine. The service is hosted in the EU. On Pro, we keep your conversations 30 days, so a thread survives our updates and our team can fix failed runs. Choose 0 days of history and none is kept.
  • Each tool is classed as read, write or destructive, and the permission level decides which of them stop for approval. The default asks before deleting, overwriting or spending credits. Every message leaves a checkpoint, and one click restores the project to the state before it.
